Jun 20, 2018

This July, Shannon Farar-Griefer will run her 8th Badwater. So far she has completed all seven of the previous 135-mile races and is the first woman in the world to double the Badwater and run 292 miles.

The 57-year old Farar-Griefer is a speaker, entrepreneur, author, and culinary chef, but she is also an ultramarathon trailblazer. When she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis ten years ago, she didn't let it slow her down. She believes ultra running and a healthy diet are her best medicine.

Shannon Farar-Griefer and Daniel Tromello

The engaging, bubbly personality belies the steel of a personality that tackles some of the most challenging races in the world. Here, she talks to Daniel Tromello about the joy of running, her success, and also the demands the sports makes of its athletes.

Farar-Griefer has a lot to say about fitness, diet, and achievement, all against the backdrop of physical and personal challenges that could, should, would keep anyone from even walking a few miles.
